Do you know that males tend to suffer more from hair loss than women? People with hair loss may sometimes be more likely to have a negative body image than those without hair loss. Hair loss usually develops gradually and may be patchy or diffuse. Baldness of the head typically refers to excessive hair loss from your scalp and can be the result of heredity, certain medications or an underlying medical condition. Baldness or hair loss is typically something need to worry about. Hair loss during adolescence can mean a person is sick or have issues with his dietary which needs to be addressed. It can also be the result of a reaction to hair cream. I know a friend who suffered from loss of hair after using a certain type of hair cream for a long period.

Some medications or medical treatments, like chemotherapy treatment for cancer, also cause people to lose their hair. Some hair loss sufferers make use of clinically proven treatments such as finasteride and topically applied minoxidil, in an attempt to prevent further loss and regrow their hair. Hormonal problems may also cause loss of hair as a result, such as for example a woman during pregnancy. Any infection which also results in hair loss is easily treated with anti-fungal medicines.
